CORRESPONDENCE.
THifi LATE ACCIDENT. To the Editor op the 'Evening Mail.' Sir — Everyone in Nelson must have been shockid at tlie fearful accident that has rendered so many children fatherless and unprovided f"r. In the absence of a better scheme I would advocate that subscription lists be opened at onoe at all the Banks, that the musters and mistresses of schools do the same, and that everyone in his or her circle nrouse the sympathies of friends. Let us demonstrate that Sleepy Hollow is not behind any rther town in New Zealand when a serious call is ma<le upon true Christian charity. Finally if the editors ot newspapers would give publicity to this wish of uiflny to re lieve such dire necessity, and also receive subscriptions, a practical illustration will be given to intending colonists that we here are not slower in acts of charity than they are in tlie mother country. I iixxij Bco,, SYMfAOfHY.
