M Conkey, lately trieJ in tbe Resident M»gistrate's Court with the wife of the defendant, whose solicitor I was in the action, I happened to mention the fact of my having been told that an instance occurred some time ago in which goeds, short measured, had been delivered from your place of business to a customer. I have since ascertained that the information upon which I made tho above statement was incorrect, and that full measure was supplied in the instance I referred to. Having learned from you that wbat I stated has since been publicly repeated, and my name given as a guarantee of its truii, •and aB you may bo prejudiced by such a statement, I have no hesitation in writing tMs letter, and giving you my full permission to make what use you please of it.
