CORRESPONDENCE.

To THE EIJITOR oV THE ' EVKNINO Mau,.' SlR — There is a great outcry about our gasworks, and the manager, Mr Younger. Now, sir, if those who find so much fault would only take the trouble to walk to the works and see for themselves, they would not only be surprised at the gas going out, bu', I think, their surprise would be how any was made at all in the present dilapidated state of the workß. L^t the works be in proper order; then, if our present manager is unlit for the office, dismiss him, but let every man. have a fair trial before he is condemned. I am, &c, W. J. H. February 6, 1875. P.S. — I should like to see the grumblers at the manager ia his place, and see how they would do in the present state of the works.
