The subject of Mutuil Lifts Assurance was also introduced, and the extraordinary advantage) secured to membtrs of the Australian Mutual Provident Society explained. The following we c among the instances given of gentlemen residing in Nelson who yesterday received intimation that bonuses had been allotted to their policies: — Mr A. aged 25, insured his life for £1000, and for his five years' share of the profits had £142 addei as bonus, making bis poliuy £1142. Mr B. for his five years division of profits on a policy for £2000 had £275, making his policy £2275, ' and smaller in-urances in proportion. It was stated that tha Mutual had been able to. pay every death claim during the past tw< ntyyears out of interest a one, that . members were allowed to borrow on the security of wbat they had paid in, and that even if a memb.r failed to pay his premium, his policy was kept on iree so long as ihe valua of what he had already paid was sufficient to meet his next year's premium. After thirteen months a policy is indefeasible; members are' allowed to travel all over tbe world without extra payment, or, if they remove, payment can be made to any agent in the Australian colonies or in London. Intending insurers were urged not to delay, as the financial year is just commencing, and it is to their interest to join immediately. Tho lecture wue replete with anecdote, and tlicited frequent applause. A vote of thanks was accorded to_.the lee- r tureron the motion of thgJßev.D.
