Tlnmßin, Manager to Mr Quick, and who attt-mt ted to abscond, pleaded guilty to embezzlement to-day. He was recommended to mercy on account of previous good character and his family. Sentence was def-rred. Auckland, Monday. The Hero arrived to-day, having left Sydney on the 20th December.
