CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor op thb ' Evening Mail.' Sir — LaaS February, I with others came to Nelson, from Blenheim, for the express purpose of attending at the forester's Fete, held in that m nth, and taking part in 'he games which formed the amusements of the day. Among the even is on the programme was a race tor members of the Oddfellows end Foresters* Sccieties only, the prize for whi h was to ba a set of Foresters' or 0 iafellows 1 embleiriß, as the a»e might be— Oddiellowb' if won by a member ot that Society, and Foreetero' if won by a Forester. It fell to my luck to carry the honor to the side of the Foresters, but to this daj I have not betn able to get the prize I won. Application has been made for the emblems times out of number, both by mveelf and through the District Secretary, Nelson, and all of no avail. The only conclusion, therefore, 1 can arrive at is that the moce of conducting such affairs in Nelson it totally different from anything I have ever before known, and is capable of very great improvement, and moreover is will tend to prevent friendly competition on future occasions of the kind. Truitit'g you will insert this in jour columns as a means ot having the affair righted, I ant, &c, Wm. Tait, No. 5035, Blenheim. Blenheim, Dec. 16, 1874.
