Town Schools—The prizes will be presented by his Honor the Superintendent at the Provincial Hall torrorrow afternoon at three o'clock. Resident Magistrate's Court. — An information having been laid by Mr Jacksoo, Provincial Auditor, apainst Alfred Hibble. the late collector of water rates, for embezzlement, a preliminary enquiry was held beforg,, the Resident Magistrate this morning, and a warrant for the arreet of the accused will be forwarded to Melbourne by the Claud Hamilton. Nelson Regatta..—A well attended meeting wna held at the Trafalgar Hotel lost evening, for the purpose of forming a Committee. Mr Wymond. having been called to the chair, it was determined after a little discussion that a regatta should be held on the 25th of February. It was staled that over £120 had already been subscribed. Mr Jam°s Cross was proposed as Commodore, and Mr John Symons as Vice-Commodore, and both were elected unanimously. The following Committee was appointed:—Messrs C. Fell, A. Pitt, Clouston, J. Garrard, J. Daly, W. H. West, E. Adams, F. Trask, E. Clifton, G. Naylcr, and D. Tennenr. Mr Wjmond was elected Treasurer, and Mr J. T. Leathes Secretary.
