The Governor landed from the Luna at the wharf at noon to-day, and was met on board by the Mayor and corporation, and the members of the Ministry. At the end of the wharf an address of welcome to his Excellency and Lady Normanby was read by the Mayor. His Excellency briefly returned thanks for the cordial and hearty reception which hai been given him, and for the flattering ttrmg in which ihe address was pre3entel, and begged to assure them that whatever iiberties be possessed would te sincerely and heartily devoted to promote, as lar as in him Jay, the happiness and well being, and prosperity of the Colony. He also returned thanks ou behalf of Lady Normanby. Offing to a laisnudentanding, ho triumphant arches were erected, but all the volunteers, firemen, and armed constabulary turned out, and perhaps the largest crowd of citizens ever seen together in Weliagton on any public occasion. The wharf was crowded with shipping, and as a^i spread their bunting the effect of the whole wm very fine. Tuesday. Wool ia being bought here now for direct shipment to America.
