Government Notices. NELSON HARBOR WORKS LOAN. SEALED TENDERS wilt be received at the Superintendent's Office, Ne!son, up to Four o'clock p.m on the 31st day of DEC RMBBK next, from PERSONS willing t) ADVANCE and LEND to the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson an AMOUNT not exceeding £27,000, upon security of a mortgage of the Land mentioned in the Schedule heieto PARTICULARS. It is proposed to expend tho money to be borrowed in the construction of a Wharf and Dry Dock, and Reclaiming Land in the Nelson Harbor, which works arili form part of the security. The repayment of all moneys advanced will be secured by a Deed of Mortgage of the Land mentioned in the schedule, executed and given according to the piovißions of the "Loan Act, 1874." The Mortgage will be for a Term of Twenty Tears from the date thereof. Such Deed will contain, amongst the other usual provisions in Mortgage Deeds stipulations to the following effect: — (1.) That in the event of the General Government of New Zealand or the Provincial Government of Nelson requiring to take or use any portion of the land comprised in such security for Railway purposes, they shall be at liberty to take and use the same therefore without the consent of tbe Mortgagee being necessary to be obtained, and without the Mortgagee thereof being entitled to any payment or compensation in respect thereof. (2.) Ihe Mortgagor shall not be bound to insure any buildings or erections on the said security. (3.) Ibe interest to be payable half-yearly at Nelson. (4 ) The Superintendent to be at liberty team time tD time to grant any lease or leases of the said land or any part thereof without the consent o! the Mortgagee, and smb. leases to be as valid as if such mortgage had not been executed. The ordinary or other revenue of tha Province of Nelson will not be liable to ba charged with, or be liable for, the repayment of any moneys to be so advanced, nor will the Superintendent be personally liable by reason of his signing any such deed of Mortgage Portions of the land to be included in the security are at present leased for various terms of years, the rentals now received trom the lessees thereof amounting to .£IOSO per annum, and the rentals increasing for subsequent portions of the terms of tbe lease. The land will be mortgaged subject to such leases. Tenders to atate rate of interest per ceatum, per annum, and to be sent in to the iutendent'9 Office, Nelson, endorsed " Tender for Loan." SCHEDULE. Starting from a point on the Nelson Haven one chain from the corner of Russeli-street, and bearing 25 deg. magnetic, continuing the same bearing for a distance of 1300 links, thence by a line bearing 295deg magnetic, for a distance of 2200 links, thence ty a line tearing 205deg magnetic, for 3.400 links, thence by a line 115dtg magnetic, for a distance of SOU links to the banks of the Harbor on Wakefield Quay, and thence by the road to the point from whence this description commenced.
