CITY SEWERAGE.

The following is the report by tbe City Surveyor of the coet of the sewerage works lately constructed in Waimea-stee 1 ;, extending from the outlet near the Postoffice to Ex-aminer-street; Hardy-street, Irom Waimeastreet to Trafalgar-street; and Nile-street, from Waimea-street to Trafalgar-sqmre :— Total length of main sewers, egg shape, 68 chains, or 1276 lineal yards, internal size of sewers, 4ft 4in by 2ft 4in, and 3ft 4ln by 2ft 4in. Length of 18-inch barrel branch sewers, 160 lineal feet. " £ s. rf. Cash paid R. The coat per lineal yard of Upper Bridge-street sewer averaged about £1 1 7s 6d, size, 3ft 4in by 2ft 4in. The coat oi Trafalgar street sewer per lineal yard was £2 ss, size, 3ft 4in by 2ft 4in.
