I The stamina of the BWck of Risk is wellknown— a quality inherited from that horse's grandsire Skeleton, wjro -was one of the best horses ever bred in fcland. When brought out at the Carragh oflkdare, he won five out of the six races for fmch he started, and was sold by his breeder, the Marquis of Sligo, for £2000. For first-class hackneys no better blood can be found, and the running of Golden Eagle, at the Marlborough Meeting in 1860, where he defeated Voltigeur (halfbrother to Malvina) and Harebell for the Maiden Plate, showed also the possession of considerable speed. / Mondays— Black Horse. Royal CokoKiob, a pure Clydesdale, took the first Ac at Battersea aa a two-year-old, at tb¥ United Exhibition of the Royal AgricuMiral Society of England, and the Royal Higfland Society, and was therefore entitled w be regarded as the best colt in England and Scotland in his year. He was selected and fnported for Mr H. Redwood by the Hon. WJRobinson. England'JHopb has left in Nelson some of the best Art stock ever bred here, and his excellence asm sire is universally admitted Captain, oV«Old Captain," the name he came to be knowlTbjr. was a horse of rare excellence, and hisXstock were always eagerly sought after.
