WESLEYAN DISTRICT MEETING. TatmsDAT, November 19ih. Financial- Business. Meeting opened at the usual hour with devotional services. Present : Rev. T. Buddie (chairman), J. S. Rishwortb, G. S. Harper, D. M'Nicoll, W. Keall, J. H. Simmond-i, W. B. Marten, and Mr R. Lucas. The first business respected erections wbich had been completed during the year. BlenhFim circuit had put up a new church 28ft by IBit, at a co'fc of £152; debt, £20. Hokitika a new church, 55ft by 35ft, at a cost ol 45? 000. It it to seat 380; remaining debt, •£4OO. Greymouth a small church 30ft by ?o't, to seat 80 pereoii-i, at a cost ot £110; debt, about £10, ; Blenheim requested permission to cell a church site in Havelock in order to secure s better one, to erect a church at Massacre Hill 3»ft x 20ft to cost £150; to erect a vestry and otherwise improve the Blenheim church at a eostof £120, also to erect a new church al Havelock 40ft x 25ft, to cost £200. The Rev J. 8. Rishworth was appointed tc accompany the Chairman as District Representative at the. stationing committee, and the Bey. G. S. Harper was granted permission to attend the Conference. Respecting invitations to ministers. th< following resolution was adopted, •« That tin the system that has grown up in some of oui circuits of evaling our rule that regulatemode of giving invitations to ministers by opening corresprfadeace before the prescribed time, isrbighly objectionable; aae this meeting recommends that no invitation ' shall be regarded by the Stationing Committee if given before the December Quarterly Meetinp; nor any invitation sent to minister* who ha'e only been one or two years in theii circuits, and whom their circuits wish tc retain " Seveial recommendations respecting. th« Connexional Funds. Sunday School Union for the Connexion, various properties, alteration of J elson District, &c , were made. The cenibg session closed about 9.30 with with payer, Friday Morning. Session commenced at 9- o'clock with devotional exercises. An amount of mis cellaneous buaioesa was transacted, the minutes read over by the Secretary, aftsi which tbe meeting close!.
