The Christchurch correspondent of a Southern paper says :-— The Good Templars here have started a Public Hall Company. As many as 800 shares have already been taken up, and 10s a share is being called in. They bave purchased a piece of land for the purpose for the sum of £360, consisting of 60ft frontage, with a depth of 99ft., in a good locality, and the hall is to be 35ft wide by a depth of the whole of tbe land. The shareholders bave furthermore authorised the directors to borrow a sura of mooey not exceeding £1000 for building purposes. The plans of the hall nre already -out.
