CITY COUNCIL.
The following is the report of the Public Works Committee as read and adopted at the ! last meeting of the Cifcy.Council:— Your Committe visited the street said to be encroached upon by Dr Cottereli and others, but could not come to any conclusion until plans h&4 been inspected. The Committee are of opinion that Mr Louisson and others should drain the surplus water at the back of their premises into the sewer at their own expense. ■ f The bridge near Mr Stringer's property j has been completed. - The Committee feel great pleasure in passing the work in Mary Ann Street carried out by Mr Akersten, and consider that the work is completed to the credit of the contractor. 'The sea wall from new work to Cross' wharf requires repairs, and Mr Younger was instructed to proceed with the work forthwith. ; ... The Committee are also of opinion thit permission be graoted to erect scats for the use of the, public on the new work fa Mary ■, Ann Street, and alf c that the: water; be.-iaid on at the same spot. : ' ■
