RIFLE MATCH.

A rifle contest took place on Thursday afternoon, at the Maitai Butts, between tbe Nelson City Rifles and H.M.S. Blanche, ten men a side. The City Rifles won by 14 points, the firing all through being very close. The ranges were 200 yards standing, target 6x4 feet; 400 and 50O yards, position any, target 6x 6 feet; five shots at each range. The following- are the scores:—
