Wellington, August 14. The following telegram has been sent to Mr Von der Heyde in reference to the movements of the San Francisco steamers : — The Tartar ieft Sao Francisco on the 28th of July for Auckland direct, and will leave the latter place for Sydney on the 21st iost. The Cypbrenes returns from K*ndavau, and awaits tbe arrival of the Tartar to proceed South, and returns again to Auckland to meet the City of Melbourne which arrives from Sydney, and then goes on to San Francisco, calling at Honolulu. The Macgregor will arrive at Auckland from San Francisco via Honolulu about the 9th September, and transfer the mails to theVjity of Adelaide, which '«*iH be wa%_o£, aaAtben proceed SoudKgnd return agk^to Auckland, and takftNjp the throo^sfervice. The City of MefwHjrne proceeds direct to Sydney and thetoqe to Kandavau to connect with the Mac>sjegor. Auckland, August 14. Astrong feeling exists here re Mr Vogel's Nortb Island provinces resolution. The Cross condemns the action of tbe Government, and the Herald denies that the arrangement of 1856 was anything more than to remove the then existing inequalities, and was never known as a binding compact for years after 1856.
