The Maryborough Advertiser of the 20th ult. reports that the neighborhood of Dead-horse G ully, between Mary borough and Carisbrook, was disturbed on Tuesday by a brawl, which had nearly ended very seriously. A few Maoris are located in the neighborhood where they follow . the vocation of fossickers in the old diggings ground. An Englishwoman, aged forty years, named Mary Anneßushby, is married to, or lives with, one of these Maoris, a man named Peter Hathan, and between them some ill feeling hea existed. On Tuesday Hathan returned to his hut from work, and high words between him and the woman took place. In a fit of anger she at length seized a formidable weapon — a kind of sailor's knife—and made a stab at the man with it. The, blow fell upon the upper part of bis left-arm, and cut his coat open,
