Weilinqton, August 13. A telegram dated London, July SI, has been received from (he AgentGenerol, announcing that during the month of July the following ships sailed for the colony:— Star of India, with 370 immigrants for Wellington ; Bebingfon aud Peter Denny wi|h, 580 for Napier; Zealandia and Jackson with 640 for Auckland, Chile with 220 for Nelson; Duke of Edinburgh with 340 for Lyttelton and Invercargill; Jessie Readman with 720 for Otago. The following railway plant and material were despatched during July :— Six locomotives, eight carriages, 700 tons rails, and 260 tons of bridge work. Auckland, August 12. The Victoria has arrived from Sydney, which she left on the 4th instant. August 13. The Gity Council have resolved to proceed with the water supply works according to Mr Moriarty's proposal. Plans are being prepared by Mr Err.Dgton, CE, and tenders wilt , be called for early both for tbe Joan and for the works. Hokitika, August 13. At a cattle sale yesterday, beef averaged 37e 6d per lOOlbs, and mutton 4|d per lb.
