PARLIAMENTARY.

Wellington, August 11. In the House of Representatives last night, Mr Vogel gave notice that he would introduce the following resolutions :—(!.) That, considering tbe altered circumstances of the colony, it is desirable tbat the provinces of tbe North Island should be abolished; (2.) That Wellington should be (made the Seat ot Government; (3.) That the land revenue should be made local revenue according to what was known as the compact of 1856, and that the Government shall during the recess consider how best to give effect to these resolutions. The notice was received with applause. The Premier stated that he expects the session to be over in a fortnight.
