Protected ly Royal Letters Patent, Dated Cctobcr 11th, 1869. Under Distinguished Patronage. DR. BRIGHT'S PHOSPHODYNE. A Chemical Preparation of Phosphorus, with the Vegetable Alkaloids Quinia, Cypripeden, Xanthoxyliu, &c. Discovered, introduced, and extensively prescribed by Chaules Leslie Bright, M.D., Resident Surgeon to St. Mary's Hospital, London. This Phosphatic combination is pronounced by the most eminent members of the Medical Profession to be unequalled for its power in replenishing the vitality of the body, by its supplying all the essential constituents of the blood and nerve substance, and for developing all the powers and functions of the system to the highest degree. It is agreeable to the palate, and innocent in its action, while retaining al! its extraordinary properties; and as a specific, surpassing all the known therapeutic agents of the day for the speedy and permanent cure of — Nervous Prostration Liver Complaints Palpitation of the Heart Dizziness Noises in the head and cars Loss of energy and appetite Hypochondria Female complaints General debility Indigestion Flatulence Incapacity for study or business Sick headache Lassitude Shortness of breath Trembling of the hands and limbs Impaired nutrition Mental and physical depression Consumption (in its first stages only) Eruptions of the skin Impaired sight and memory Nervous fancies Impoverished blood Nervous debility in all its .tages Premature decline and all morbid conditions of the system, arising from whatever cause. The action of the Phosphodyne is twofold — on the one hand increasing the principal which constitutes nervous energy, and on the other, the most powerful blood and flesh generating agent known; therefore, a marvellous medicine for renovating imp tired and broken-down constitutions. It quickly improves the function of assimilation to such a degree, that where for years an emaciated, anxious, cadaverous, and semivital condition has existed, the flesh will rapidly increase in quantity and firmness, and the wholesys em return to aßtate of robust health. The Phosphodyne acts electrically upon the organisation ; for instance, it assists nature to generate that human electricity which renews and rebuilds the osseous, muscular, nervous, membranous, and organic systems. It operates on the system without exciting care or thought upon the individual as to the proces?. It moves the lungs, liver, heart, kidneys, stomach, and intestines with a harmony, vigour, yet mildness, unparalleled in medicine: The phosphodyne gives back to the human structure, in a suitable f.rm, the phosphoric or animating cl meet of life which has bten wasted, and exerts an important influence directly on the spinal marrow and nerv us sys- ■ ten, of a nutritive, tonic, and invigorating character; maintaining tbat buoyant energy ' of the brain and muscular system which ren- _ ders the mind cheerful, brilliant, and entrge'tic, ; entirely overcoming that dull, inactive, and • sluggish disposition which many persons ex- ' perience in all their actions. , The beneficial effects of the Phosphodyne are frequently shown from the first day of its administration, by a remarkable increase of i nervous power, with a feeling of vigour and i comfort to which the patient has been unac- ! customed. Digestion is improved, the appe- ■ tite increases wonderfully, the bowels become i regular, the eyes brighter, the skin clear and I healthy, and the hair acquires strength, showj ing the importance of the action of the Phos- ; j phodyne on the organs of nutrition. '. \ " Finally, the Phospho iyne maintains a cer- | tain degree of activity in the previously debil- : itated nervous system; its use enables all debilitated organs to return to their, sound state and perform their natural functions i Per-ous suffering from nervous debility, or j any f of the hundred symptoms which this* disjtre_3ing disease assumes, may rest assured of aneffectuarand'even speedy cure, by the judicious nse of this most invaluable remedy. French, and German languages, accompany each Case' « In my treatment of pulmonary (lung) diseases I have found no medicine produce any such favourable results aa Phosphorus; it impregnats the blood with its electrical properties, ami revives the exhausted frame, it increases the flesh and strength, the vivacity and cheerfulness of the spirits, such as no other medicine ever did beiore. H. M. Sweet, MD. Rev W L. Wortherspoon, Church of Scotland, Kilspindie Manse, Perth, writes :-■— December 22nd 1870. Sir — feel the most heartfelt pleasure in in reporting to you the speedy and wonderful success of your Phosphodyne in the case of one of my parishioners, William Thomson. I can scarcely conceive a less promising case than his, since for years he had been very ill indeed, and was one month ago apparently in an incurable state, occasioned by disease of the heart, &c. He has not yet exhausted the sixteen bottles of your mtdicine, but t.is recovery is advancing most satisfactorily ,the heart is almost free from pain, and he can speak articulately, can . ort in b_3 garden, and feels cheerful and .all of ht pe. Yesterday he walked eleven miles in four hours a journey which he could not accomplish, some weeks ago, in less than eight or nine hours. Sympathising, as I do, with hundreds whom your Phosphodyne might save from lingering •suffering, I thank jou gratefully for your invaluable medicine, and I beg you, if you think fit, to add thia report to your list ot testimonials. 8, High Street, Birmingham, September 6th, 1870 The Editor of the Birmingham Gazzette returns thanks to Dr Bright for the great benefit he has received from his Phosphodyne In a severe nervous disease.
