The Nelson Eveening Mail. WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 1874.
Artizanb' Association. — The members of this Association are requested to meet this evening for the election of officers.
The Tararua leaves for Wellington at 9 o'clock this evening. She takes the Nelson members of both Houses of Assembly.
English Opera Company. —We would ceil attention to the reduced rates of admission to the Oddfellows' Hall during the remainder of the Company's stay in Nelson.
Football.— An alphabetical match will be played at the Botanical Gardens on Saturday next. The sides will be Ato H versus Ito Z. The game will commence at 3 p.m. It is hoped there will be a large number of players and a. good game, aa the Wellington players are expected over at the end of the month, and our men at present are not in very good trim.
Stoke. — A correspondent writes from Stoke asking whether the Committee have any funds in hand, and, if Eo, suggesting that they should be applied to the repairs of the bridge near the school. He. also, complains that, ••owing W soma ; blunder of 'the Cofdmittee," many of the children were kept at home on the 29th instant. It would be far better that he should address himself to the School Committee direct.
