The steamer Otago will arrive here ■Jlo-morrow afternoon, and sail again by the same tide.

The CiECUS. — Prior to their departure for tbe North the circus troupe will giv£ two more performances in Nelson, one to-morrow afternooij for schools, families, and children', aai\ the other in the evening, the prices for admission being reduced. ..Among other attractions will be the firs^ appearance of the Lilleputian pony. Cgjl Smith's Combination. Company. — The Masonic Hall was well filled again laßt night, when this company performed for >the second time. The acrobatic

performances of the apparently boneless De Castro family were repeated and improved upon ; Airic's performances on the swinging bar excited greater astonishment than on the previous evening; Val Vose's ventriloquism was delightfully amusing ; Mr Saandeis' playing on the harp gave, as it always does, immense satisfaction; and Mr St. Vincent's substitution of an original song, entitled " Castles in the Air," for that containing references to local celebrities, was remarkably well received. There will be another entertainment this evening, with a change of programme, and to-morrow the company will give a mid-day performance, at reduced prices, when we have no doubt thatacrowded assemblage of children, for whose special convnience it will be given, will be

present.

. Important Telegraphic News. — We trust tbat our readers will be gratified to learn that somebody's tender for the erection of a Court-house somewhere (vide telegraphic news) has been accepted, aod that one or two others were declined. The pleasure we experiecced in having to pay for the telegram is simply indescribable.

Colonial Bank of New Zealand. — A public meeting will be held at the Trafalgar Hotel this evening, at eight o'clock, for tbo purpose of forming a Committee to receive applications for shares, and establishing a branch of this Bank fn Nelson.
