Dunedin, June 22. A slight shock of earthquake was felt at seventeen minutes to six on Saturday morning. Wellington, June 21. The Lady Bird arrived at 730 tbis morning, having been detained by Btress of weather. The Claud Hamilton arrived at 2 p.m. She was detained at Picton, whither she was compelled to go, by want of coal. Eventually

she coaled from the steamer Wellington. June 22. The Governor's yacht Blanche has jußt arrived with his Excellency. New Plymouth, June 22. Mr Parris is negotiating for another large block of native land of between | 60,000 and 100,000 acres. The Native , chief says that tbe block will take two years to survey. Surveyors are much wanted here. Tauranga, Juno 21. A man has just been found who has been lost in the bush for three weeks. He lived on Ton toi reeds and leaves. When found, though big before, he was a mere skeleton, weighing no more than a child lour or five years old. ' Auckland, June 22. The Auckland Steam Packet Company's new steamer Southern Cross has arrived from England via Melbourne. She left the latter port en the 10th instant. Another attempt at incendiarism on Saturday night was discovered. A quantity of burning rags saturated with kerosine were found under the Catholic Institute Hall iv Wellington-street. A soldier's coat was among the materials which, by not burning, prevented the success of the attempt. Tho building is the cenlre of a wooden block, and if the fire had once caught the loss must have been extensive.
