TpHE following BYR-LAWS made by the X WAIMFA ROAD BOARD, and Assented to by his Honor the Superintendent, and which came into operation in the Waimea District on the 13th instant, are published for general information/, By Order ot the Board, T. Bte-Law No. 1. •' The occupier, or in case there shall be no occupier, then the owner of any land upon which a gorse or other hedge 6hall be growing, adjoining any public road or Btreet, shall so soon as the portion of i the s«d road or street adjoining his I paid land shall be clear, thenceforward I k< ep the Bame at all times clear of ! gorse or other obstructions which it may i easonably be supposed have procee ed from the said hedge; and in case such occupier or owner, as the case may be, sball refuse or neglect to clear such road or street, after receiving fourteen days' notice to do so from the Road Board, he shall be liable to a penalty of not exceeding Forty Shillings." " Tbe owner of any horse, mule, ase, sheep, swine, or other beast or cattle of any kind, whkh shall, at any time after this bye-law shall come into operation, be found depasturing in or upon any fenced road, or the sides thereof, witbin the limits of the Waimea District, whether under the tendence or control of any person or not, and thereby causing any damage to such road, ditch, bank, or lence, shall be liable to a fine, for each animal s. depasturing and causing any damage as aforesaid, of not more than Ten Shil-'ings, provided always that the amount of such penalty shall not exceed Forty Shillings." 1558 " CATTLE TRESPASS ACT, 1868/ WE, the undersigned, being the lawful occupiers of certain lands, known as the Lake Ouxon and St. Jambs' Runs in the District ot Amur., Province of Nelson, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE, under and by virtue o. the " Cattle Trespass Act, 1868," that it iB our intention, on and after the Ist day of JULY next, to CLAIM DAMAGES for CATTLE TIihSPASSING on all uninclosed LAND situate on the said Lake Guyon and St. James' Runs, M* ARTHUR BROTHERS.
