Melbourne, May 26. Tbe Pilot schooner Corsair was wrecked at the Heads early on Sunday morning. Five pilots were on board at tbe time, all of whom were saved, Both the dismasted ships, tbe Locb Ard and John Kerr, are now in port. Tbe trial of Green, for the Queenstreet explosion, has concluded. The jury disagreed. A man named Ord, at Wangarattß, has died after a fight with another man, The Queen's birthday wus observed as a holiday, and the amusements and torchlight procession of the Fire Brigades was a splendid affair. Seven hundred from various parts of the Colony took part. Thousands of people were congregated in the streets. Today a review is being held with all tbe fire apparatus. Tbe Rooparelle and Ballochmyle, bound for New Zealand, with immigrants, have both been spoken. The s.s. Southern Cross, 139 tons, intended for the cattle trade between Auckland and Napier, bas put in here short of fuel; after being cleaned and painted she will resume her voyage. Dr Drewes, an old colonist, and a former member of tbe Legislature and Government, is dead. He was a prominent member of tbe Oddfellows, and his funeral to-day was largely attended. The Nubia, with the English mails, is expected to arrive here on Tuesday, 2od June. The markets are unaltered. Oats are in good request. Brandies are selling freely at full rates. Arrived— May 24 th, Speedwell, from Hokianga. Sydney, May 25. The wet weather has marred the holiday and the Volunteer encampment. H.M.S. Basilisk has discovered a passage to New Guinea which will shorten the route to China by two days from Sydney. Hobart Town, May 25. Negotiations resulted in the adjustment of free interchange between New Zealand and Tasmania of grain, flour, malt, hops, ales, jams, fruits, butter, cheese, bacon, fisb, timber, and flax.
