POLITICAL CRISIS.
MR. GREENFIELD DECLINES TO FORM A NEW. MINISTRY. MR. O'CONOR i^ENT FOR. GREAT EXCITEMENT. There was quite an excitement this afternoon as the hour approached for the adjourned sitting of the Council. At three o'clock a the Speaker took the chair, when Mr. Greenfield stated that his Honor the Superintendent had asked bim, as the senior member of the late Executive, to undertake the formation of a new Government This he had declined to do, but had recommended his Honor to send for Mr O'Conor. Mr. O Conor said that in continuation of Mr Greeufield's statement be had to inform the Council that the Superintendent had sent for him, and that he had asked for time to consider the matter, and had promised to give as early an answer as possible. In order that he might have an opportunity of consulting the other members, he would move that the Council adjourn until Monday evening. This was seconded by Mr. John Kbbb, and tbe Council adjourned accordingly.
