Every policy- holder, who is such in respect of a policy granted or entered into in New Zealand by a Company who shall have made a depo-it of securities under the "Life Assurance Companies Act, 1873," may, if the po'icy or contract has been made before the commencement ef the siid Act, register such policy with the Public Trustee within twelve months after the commencement of the said Act, but not after *, and if made after the commencement of the said Act, then within six months after the making thereof. (N.B. — The Ist ot November, 1873, Is fixed as the commencement of the Act). 2. The person intending to register a policy shall cither deliver the same to the Public Trustee, at his office in Wellington, or may deliver the same to an agent ; and every such person shall make application to register such I pclicy in a f..rm which can be obt»ined at any I Post Offt.'.e ii the Colony at which Money j Orders are issued. I 3. The Public Trustee shall make and keep a book for the registration of policies, in I wh'ch the particulars of each policy shall be recorded. 4. There ehall be paid to the Public Trustee by the policy-holder a fee of five shillings on tbe registration thereof. 5.
