A want of confidence motion h gainst the ■new Executive was moved in the course of lb-day, and the debate is now. proceeding. • Charleston, May 14. • At: 7i30 >last; evening, a very large and beautiful meteor passed over the towi.ship. lt ma;de its appearance from the south-east, and travelled with great velocity, being visible only about twenty seconds. The meteor was lomet-shaped, and left but little trail. It exhibited all the colors of the rainbow, and ■ eventually burst over the sea in exactly the 'same manner as a congrove rocket. The light was so glaring that a momentary panic' existed, many thinking that a firehad broken out. Everything was as visible as in broad daylight. Auckland, May li. H.M.S.
