The Provincial Council is to be congratulated upon the temperate, and earnest manuer in wbich last night's debate was conducted. It \?as creditable to the members themselves, and creditable to the constituencies they represent, and although we do not think that very important results will follow, we believe tbat discussions of such a character must be productive of a beneficial effect upon the Executive, tbe legislature, and the people. The great length of the Provincial Treasurer's speech, which will be perused with interest throughout the province, prevents our furnishing our readers in tha present issue with such a report as we would wish to give of last night's proceedings, and we have therefore preferred postponing it until to-morrow to giving a meagre outline to-day.
