SEALED TENDERS will be received at the General Post Office, Wellington, till MONDAY, the lltli May proximo, for the PERFORMANCE of the .undermentioned MAIL t^TEAM SERVICES:— 1. Between the Manukau ond Picton, calling at Taranaki and Nelson, and back to the Manukau by the same route, once every four weeks. 2. Between Nelson and Hokitika, calling at Westport and Greymouth, and back to Nelson by the same route once every lour weeks. The names, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessels proposed to be employed to be siated. The vessels to be approved by the Postmaster-General, and to be surveyed whenever considered ~ necessary, by some person appointed by him. f A proper and secure room to be provided for the mails, and the mails to be landed and I shipred by and at the expense of the cont tractor. The days and hours of arrival and deparl tire at and from the various ports to be fixed by the Postmaster-General, or by Fome one duly appointed by him, who shall also have the power of detaining the vessels, if neces' sary, for forty-eight (48) hours after the due - date of Ihe arrival of the San Francisco Mails r at Auckland ond Nelson, without charge. For any other detention the rate of demurrage per diem to be stated. Service No. 1 to commence at the Manukau on the 22id proximo, and Service No. 2 to commence at Nelson ou the arrival of tbe i Bteamer performing Service Iso. 1. 3 The Services to be terminated by either r party giging two (2) months' notice in writing to the other. t The lowest or any tender not necessarily t accepted.
