NELSON BACE M EETING.
This Day. The weather again to-day was perfect, Lut the attendance on tho course was not so large as yesterday. The splendid contest for the Jockey Club Handicap on the previous day had, however, imparted an additional interest to the racing, particularly that for the Nelson Cup in which Yatterina and Kakapo were to meet agnio, this time on more equal terms, it beiDg a weight-for-age race. Tlio Hurdle lt.ee was olso eagerly looked forward to, as a close contest between Tommy Dodd nnd Butcher Boy was looked for, and not without good reason, as the following description of the race will show: — Handicap Hurdles Racb of 40 soys. Butcher Boy tried hard to catch him, but it was of no avail, and Tommy came in the winner by a length, hands down. Heiress never showed in the race, the pace being too great for her, and Monarch lost any chance he might have had by baulking at the first flight of hurdles. Nelson C.p of 75 soys, weight for age.
