TENDERS aro invited for tho purchase of the whole or any portion of Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debenture?, issued under the Act of lhe Legislature of the Colony, entitled " Iho Wcßtland Loan Act, 1873." By the Act above the principal sutn to be raised, and theinterest thereon, are chirged on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony; a special block of 250,000 acres in extent being set apart as security to the Colony for the amount, to be raised. The Tenders will be received and the Debentnres issued subject to the undermentioned conditions:— 1. The Debentures will be payable to bearer, and will be ie6U(d in bums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures will bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, payable half-yearly, on the 15th day of April ar.d the 1 5th day of October in each year, at the Treasury at Wellington, or ft any branch of the Bank of New Zetland in New Zealand, on notice given at the Treasury one month before the due date. 3. Tlie principal sum will be payable oh the J 6th day of April, 1894, at the Trea?ury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand iv New Zealand, at the eptipn of the h'lder, six months' notice being required, previous to maturity, of the pbee at which payment is detired. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington, at noon, on Friday, the Ist day of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desite to be present — the minimum price under seal being first placed on the table. In tho event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess of the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made 5. The amount tendered or must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington as under.- — Five r.er c«-nt accompanying application; the baLnce on or belore the Bth May. On payment of the balance of purchase money, Debentures sigLed by tbe Agents appointed under the Act will be forwarded, at the risk of the Government, to purchasers or their nominees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whose applications sales are effected. ■ Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'clock a. m, on the lfct 'May, will be accepted, provided they nre accompanied by a telegram from tbe Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of New Zealand notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank of New Zealand to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. If no allotment be made, lhe 5 per cent deposit will be returned in full; and if a portion only of tho amount be allotted, the fcurplus will be applied in payment of the balance.
