Government Notices. [Fxtract from the New Zealand Gazette, April 9, 1874.] ISSUE OF -350,000 NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT DEBENTURES UNDER " THE WESTLAND LOAN A_r_ 1-73." Treasury, Wellington, 9th April, 1874. TENDERS aro invited for the purchase of ihe Whole or any portion of Fifty Thousand Pounds New Zealand Government Debenturei, issued under the Act of the Legislature of the Colony, entitled "J he Westland Loan Act, 1873." By the Act above |cited, the principal euai to be raised, and the interest thereon, aro cb urged on the Consolidated Revenue of the Colony; a special block of 260,000 acres in extent being set apart as security to the Colony for tho annum to be raised. „ * ' Ihe Tenders will be received and the Debeptnres issued subject to the undermentioned conditions: — 1. The Debentures will be payable to bearer, and will be issued in bums of cot less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures will bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, payable half-yearly, on the . 15th day of April afid the 15th day of October in each year, at the Treasury at Wellington, or Ft any branch of the Bank of l--ew Zealand in New Zealaud, on notice given at the Treasury one month before the due date. 3 The principal Bum will be payable on the 15th day of April, 1894, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand ia New Zealand, at the cptlon of the holder, six months' notice being required, previous to maturity, of the place at which payment is detired. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington, at noon, on Friday, the Ist day of May next, in the presence of such of the tenderers as desire to be present — the minimum price under seal being first placed on the table. In the erent of equal tenders being received for a sum in excess of the issue, a pro rata distribution will be made. 5. The amount tendered ior must be paid at the Treasury at Wellington as . under.* — Five per crnt accompanying application; the balance on or before the „Bth May! On pay mint of the balance of purchase money, Debentures signed by tbe Agents appointed under the Act will be forwarded, at the risk of the Government, to purcbasers or their Domictes. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to broktrs through whose applications sales are effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later thin 10 o'clock a m, on the Ist May, will be accepted, provided they "sre acioinpanied by a telegram from the Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of New Zealand notifying that tbe necessary deposit has been paid into the Bank of N.w Zealand to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. If no allotment be made, the 5 per cent deposit will be returned in full; and if a portion only of the amount be nllotted, the surplus will be applied in payment .of the < balance.
