Government Notices. Extract from the New Zealand Gazette, April 9, 1874.] SSUE OF je:O,OOONEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT DEBENTURES UNDER " THE WESTLAfID LOAN ACT, 1873." Treasury; Wellington, 9th April, 1874. TENDERS aro invited for the purchase of the whole or any portion of Fifty I'housand Pounds New Zealand Government Debenture's, issued under the Act of theLegisature of the Colony, entitled "1 he Wi Btlaud Loan Act, 1873." By the Act above felted, ihe principal sum to be raised, and the interest thereon, are chirged on the Consolidated Kevenue of the Colony; a special block Of 360,000 acres in extent being .set apart as -ecurity to the Colony for the amount tb be raised. The Tenders will be receive! ahd the Debentures issued subject to the under**' mentioned conditions:— 1. The Debentures will be payable to bearer, and will be issued iii»ums of not less than One Hundred Pounds each. 2. The Debentures will bear interest at the rate of 5 per ctnt per annum, payable half-yearly, on the 15th day of April and the 15th day of October in each 3 ear, at the Treasury at Wellington, or f t any branch of the Bank of New Zealand in New Zealand, on notice given at the Treasury one month before the due date. 3. The principal sum will ba payable on the 15th day of April, 1894, at the Treasury at Wellington, or at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand in New Zealand, at the option of the holder, Bix months' notice being required, previous to maturity, of the place at which payment is desired. 4. Tenders will be opened at the Treasury at Wellington, at noon, on Friday, the Ist day of May next, in the presence of such of tbe tenderers as desire to be present— the minimum price under seal being first placed on the table. In tho event of equal tenders being received for a sum in excest* of ihe issue, a rpro fata distribution will be made. 5. The. amount tendered lor must be paid nt the Treasury at Wellington aB under; — . Five per cpnt accompanying applica- : tion; the balance on or betore the Bth May. On payment of the balance of purchase money, Debentures signed by thb Agents appointed under the Act will be forwarded, at the risk of the Government, to purcbasers or their. nomiuees. Half per cent brokerage will be allowed to brokers through whose applications' sales are effected. Applications by telegraph, received not later than 10 o'ctock a.m. on the Ist May, will be accepted, provided they pre accompanied by a telegram from tbe Manager of any Branch or Agency of the Bank of New Zealand notifying that the necessary deposit has been paid Into the Bank of- ; New Zealand to the credit of a Loan Deposit Account. If no allotment be made, the 5 per cent deposit will be returned in full; and if a portion only of the amount be allotted, the surplus will be applied in payment of the balance.
