— — — , The Morven Hills Station (Otago) has again changed handß, Colonel Whitmore hoving sold it to Mr James Cogle, of Tasmania, for £130,000. In Soulh Australia tbere are 12,000 children between the ages of seven and fifteen unable to rend and write. Some time ngo a "Bushman's Home" was erected in Hamilton, in the Western District of Victoria — the chief town of a great squatting district. So many swagmen wander about the country there, going from station to station for free lodgiogs and rations, that it was thought tbe formation of a Home, where they could live cheaply in the intervals between the sheep-shearing seasons, or when out of work, would be of convenience to tbem, and would' pay. Ths institution, however, does not appear to have attracted the wanderers I for whom it was intended. It bas been j so indifferently successful that the ; " Home " has bees abandoned, and the building sold by auction for the sum of £450. *mm*ii\im*wsw*smrvm*mmm*ißiMm-~—i—— i i . n ._ .i. _ _
