The p.-. Charles Edward, Thomas Whitwell, commander, arrived hero from Westport at 230 p.m to-day. She reports baviug left Nelson at 1030 a.m. oti the 3rd, arriving off Westport at 6 30 a m. the following morning, crossed the bar at 830 a.m. and landed cargo, but owing to heavy floods was detaiuet three days ; left at 1-30 a.m. on the Bth, arriving at Hokitika fit 1 1 30 a.m. ; landed cargo, and left for Greymouth at 1 p.m. on the follow. ng day, arriving there at 3p m. Bame day ; discharged cargo, but owing to the delay in procuring coal, was detained two days ; left for Westport at 630 p.m. on the 12th, asriving off thero at 3 a.m. ; crossed the bar at 7 ajn. on the following morning, and discharged 50 tons of cargo ; sailed for Nelson at 7 p.m., arriving here as above.
