Ihe Taranaki arrived from Picton this morning alter a passage of 22 hours. Ihe gale was eo heavy yesterday morning early that she wns compelled to lie to for several hours in Ship's Cove. The schooner Canterbury, Capt Russell, left Uamaru at 8 a.m., March 28, with light S.W. wind, which carried her as lar as Rank's Peninsula on Sunoay, 29th ; experienced strong N.W. gale lor 24 hours, and on Montay had strong ?-.b). wind, which carried her as lar as the Brothers, Cook's Straits; on Wednesday, had strong N.W. wind, and beat up to Stephen's Island; t-ince then had light winds up the Bay till arrival on 1 hursday at midnight. She brings a iarge cargo of produce consigned to It. l.evien.
