GOOD TEMPLARISM.
To the Editor, op thb Evkning Mail. Sir — There are several persons who anxiously wish to know the nature of that Older of Good Templars who now are endeavoring to add to -their number new members. lam sure many will thank mo if I advise them noj to bo in a hurry to enrol. There are many Temperance Societies well known and recommendable for those who desire to abstain from strong drinks. But this new Order which, if we believe them, numbers already 6,000 members in New Zealand, is not altogether what one would suppose it to be. If Ifl ere not afraid to be too long I would inform, in a satisfactory manner, the public of its nature. Suffice it to say that its religious character is an anomaly; its • secret practices :rank it ,a,mongst Secret Societies ; and its influence is injurious. ' ■ '•■ ' , ' ; I am, &c, Philanthkopist.
