Charles Edward, Thos. Whitwell, commander, arrived here at 930 a.m. on Sunday She reports having left here on Sunday, the Ist inst., at 10 a.m., arriving at Westport at 230 p.m. following day, baying encountered strong head winds with heavy sea on the passage; sailed for Hokitika at 11 p in. on the 3rd, arriving off there at 9 a.m , crossed the bar at 10.30 am., landed cargo snd sailed for Greymouth at II a.m. on the sth, arriving there st 1 pm, same day; d-scharged cargo and took in 64 tons coal, and sailed ior Westport at midnight on the 6ih, arriving off thereat 8 am. following morning; crossed the bar at 10 a.m., and sailed for Nelson at noon on the 7th, arriving here as above. ft!
