BOABD OF WORKS.

The usual ideeting was held at the office of the Board, on Friday evening. All the memberg were present except Messrs Dodson and Robert Burn. . .■ The Surveyor reported that he was informed by Mi* Mirfin that there was no prospect at present of any stone being brought by the Government from Whangamoa, The Collector of Rates informed the Board that since the new rate bad been levied the sum of £443 had been collected, being a greater amount than h«d ever been collected in the same time in previous years. The Surveyor was ordered to obtain from the Government the payment of the sum of £100, balance of the vote of Council to the Board. The Board then adjourned until Friday evening next, when the tenders for the new drainage works are to be opened.
