The cricket match between Otago and Christchurch commenced yesterday. Christchurch made in the flrst innings 78, and Dunedin 144. The second innings commenced at 5*30 p.m, Before twelve o'clock to-day, Canterbury were all out for 38 for the second innings. Total in both innings 116, Otago thus winning in one inningß with "28 runs to spare. Timaru, January 13 The soiree of the Primitive Me'iiodists, in connection with the laying o_ the foundation-stone of a new chapel, was an unprecedented success. Over 300 persons sat down.
