We are indebted to Mr Willeocks, purser of the s.s. Phoabe, for the following report of the passage dbwn lrom Sydney. The N.Z.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Phoabe, H. Worsp commander, arrived last night at 11 o'clock, fihe left Sydney at 630 p.m. ou 31st December, experienced light head winds with fine weather till arrival at Manakau at 4 a.m. on the 6th instant. Left Onehunga at 1 2-40 p.m. on the Sth instunt, arrived oft New Plymouth at daylight next morning; left again at 7.45 a.m., and arrived as abovo. She left again for Picton and Wellington at 12 o'clock to-day. The s.s. Murray, A. Palmer, commander, arrived here at 9 a.m. to-day. She reports having left here on the sth at noon, arriving at Westport at 11 am the following day ; landed cargo, and sailed for Hokitika at 4 a.m. on the 7th, arriving there at noon the same day ; landed cargo, and sailed for Greymouth at 11.30 a.m. on the Sth, arriving there at 2.30 p.m. same day; landed cargo, and took in 36 tons coal, and sailed for Westport at 4 a.m. on the 9th, arriving there at 1 1 a.m. same Any ; sailed for T»Telson at 2.30 p.m., arriving here as above.
