Palmer, arrived here veater« ay at 7.30 p.m She reports h ying lett Nelson on tbe 220 d for Westjorr, but owing to a strong south-weit gale with heavy sea, had to come to "under the Cape for some hours, arriving at Westport at; 12' flO p.m.; landed cargo and sai'ed for Greymouth at 4 am. on the 25th arriving th-^re at 1 p.ro. same day; landed cargo and sailed for Hikitika at 4 p.m. on the 29th, arriving there at b*Bi) p.m ; left again for Greymouth it 6 a m on tiie 3lst, arriving there at B*3o am. same day, toi k in 37 tons of coal and . sailed same evening for Ntlson at 8 p m., arriving here as abuve, having made the trip in 23 hours.
