These vessels will at once create a revenue foe the C ompany, and, it is believed, will be sufficient * to carry on the trade of the ports on the Coast* of Otago and Canterbury. Mr James Mills, who has so successfully coc. ducted the business of the Harbor Company feoa its commencement, will continue to act is Manager of this Company. It is estimated that, to carry oufc these poposals. a capital of £150,00]0 will be required, aid to provide for this it is proposed to call ap £4 per share, making a total of £100,000, aadto borrow the remaining £50,000 on debenttfes bearing a low rate of interest.
