CRICKET.
A closely contested match between the married and single of the Artillery Company was played io the Botanical Gardens yesterday. The band was on the ground. A capital luncheon was provided by Mr j J. Disher, and every arrangement waa made to secure a pleasant holiday, A cricket ball was to be presented to the batsman who made the largest number of runs, and this, it will be seen, fell to the lot of Tennent, who eoored 39.
