Mb Curtis* Committee.-— The members of the Committee are invited to attend at tbe Masonic Hotel this evening at 8 o'clock. Perseverance Mine. — We understand that Messrs. Curl is Brothers have reoeived from England a complete analysis of the galena, blende, &<;., sent by thera some time apo to England from this mine. Richmond School. — An entertainment j will lie given by the boys attending tho above sehool this evening at balf-past seven. It will consist principally of readings and recitations. Foxhill and Brunnerton Railway. — Mr Rochfort and staff started yesterday to survey tha line between Foxhill and Broonerton, Upon Mr Jb'ocnfort'a report will probably depend the decision whether the Hope or the Roundel! route is to be adopted. Town Schools. -— The prizes were distributed this afternoon by his Honor the Superintendent, Mr Goulstone being in the chair. We shall publish the prize list and a report of the proceedings tomorrow. San Francisco Mail Service.— The Taranaki left Wellington for Nelson via Picton this afternoon, and will proceed from here to Auckland to-morrow afternoon with the homeward mails, which will be transhipped into the Governor Blackball, }iu-J by ht-r conveyed to Kandavau, where she wili meet the Macgregor which sails from Sydney for San Francisco tomorrow. The important sale ol sheep, cattle, and horses to have bsen held yesterday at Mr James Harper's, Spring Grove, was postponed in consequence of the weather until Tuesday next, 23rd iustant.
