Tbe Surveyor called the attention of the Board to the discovery by Mr Scott of a large deposit of first-class sand "in Ngaiiawa-street. Good sand for building . and plastering purposes is -^extremely-' scarce, but there seems to be an inexhaustible supply at the spot named. Mr R. Burn moved that • persons be allowed to remove sand from Ngatiawastreet, under the supervision of the Sur,veyor ? upon payment of v6d per load.— Carried. (-: ' ' . [ ,' The Surveyor reported that , the qssess.ment for the current year was in the hands of the Collector, who would attend to receive the rates at the office of hthe Board, on Monday nest, from nine a.m. to four p.m, . , Cheques were signed to the amount of £61 155, and the Board adjourned.
