RIFLE MATCH.
A rifle contest took place on Monday morning, at (he Maitai range, between the Foresters and Oddfellows of this city, five men a side, the Oddfellows being unable to raise a team of ten. The ranges were 200, 400, and 500 yards, position any throughout Target 200 yards 6x 4 faet; 400 and 500 yards, target 6 x 6 feet. The shootiog on the whole was vcy good, tho match beinj! closely contested. At the finish of 200 yards Use Oddfellows were one point ahead; at 400 yards the Forsßtera gained eight point p, they then being ahead by seven points; at 500 yards the Foresters pained twelve points, thus winning the match by 19 points.
