To The Editor Of The Nelson Evening Mail.
Sir —Will you kindly allow me to occupy a very small portion of your space ? In the report given by the Grey River Argus, of the 15th instant, of Mr O'Conor's address to the electors at Cobden, I find the following:—" The agent of the telegraph association in Nelson, Mr Blundell, he (Mr O'Conor) had stigmatised on several occasions, because he had always sent false reports of his meetings in Nelson." To attempt to contradict all the mis-statements to which Mr O'Conor has given utterance during the present contest would be to undertake a Herculean tusk, for which I have neither the time nor the inclination, and I will therefore content myself with challenging him to point out one single instance in Vhich I have sent a " false report". of his meetings. '■' lam, &c, Fras. J. Blondell, Nelson Agent Anglo-Australian Press Agency.
