' WHjptEAS, by a certain Proclamation /bearing date the l'4th day of February, 1871, apd issued under my hand as ' Superintendent dc the Province of Nelson, certain districts wore/proclaimed under the provisions r of " The Coiuftry Roads Act, 1856," to be Road Districts foiythe purposes of thesaid. Act : And whereas, by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Nelson, Session XXH., . No. 1, entitled " The Nelson Highways Act, 1872," the said " County Roads Act, 1856," was repealed, and ' the 1 existing districts constituted under the said -'County Roads Act, 1856," were declared, to, have been constituted Districts under " The Nelson Highways Act, 1872," for the purposes of that Act : And whereas it is expedient to alter and amend the boundaries of the Districts of Urran Motueka aa dnscribed in the said Proclamation : Now therefore I, Oswald Curtis, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, by virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities in me vested in that behalf, do hereby revoke such portion of the above mentioned Proclamation as relates to the District of Upper Motueka, and do hereby declare and proclaim that from and after this date the boundaries of the Upper Motueka Road District shall be as follows, for the purposes of " The Nelson Highways Act, 1872." Up*»br Motueka Distbiot. - Colpamencing at the south-western angle -of / the Pangatotara Road Board District, near the source of the Baton river; ! thence by the water-shed to the saddle I between the sourcesof the rivers Wangai peka and Karamea; thence in a straight I I lliue to the junction of the Hope Valley I traod with the North Buller road; thence \ Iby the watershed to the source of the \ Motupiko aiver*, thence bo a straight nine to the south-eastern angle of the Waimea District; thence along the a^jouth-western boundary of the Waimea **^jjgiatrict; and along tne southern bound- , ary of the Pangatotara District to its I south-western angle. And I do hereby further proclaim, constitute, | and appoint that the district hereinafter described shall be a district for the purpose of " The ! Nelson Highways Act, 1872," to be called the Hampden District, and that the said Act- shall be in operation in that district from and after this I date. Hampden District. Commencing at the saddle between the Wangapeka and Karamea -, thence by the Lyell ranges, and following the eastern boundary of the Inangahua District, as described by "The Goldfields Local Revenues Act, 1873," to the summit of the Brunner range ; thence by a straight line to Lake Tennyson; thence in a straight . line to the source of the Motupiko -, thence by the southern boundary of the Upper Motueka District to the saddle between tha Wangapeka and Karamea.
